Ms Ange Houston

Ange obtained a BSc (Nutrition & Food Science) and Post Graduate Diploma (Dietetics) through Curtin University (WA). As an Accredited Practising Dietitian, Ange has worked in the field of bariatric surgery since 2008 and now works solely in this area.

Ange helps patients prepare for surgery and provides dietary advice for the post-operative period. She will explain the before surgery Very Low Calorie Diet (VLCD) and the after surgery progression back to normal food textures. Ange and our other dietitians are available to see bariatric surgery patients at any time during their journey if they are seeking additional help or advice with their food and nutritional intake once they are past the initial post-operative recovery period.

Ange is a member of the Dietitians Association of Australia (DAA), the WA Bariatric Dietitians Working Party, and the Obesity Surgery Society of Australia and New Zealand (OSSANZ). Ange is currently in the process of undertaking some formal research in bariatric surgery to further assist patients in achieving their best possible outcome from surgery.

Remember: If you do not have ancillary private health cover, a chronic illness care plan will allow you to receive a partial medicare rebate for dietetic services. Ask our office staff how to obtain one.
